Kitchen renovation
We transformed the original lounge into the new kitchen space, We stripped the fabric of the room to brickwork and opened up the ceiling and exposed the internal brick walls. This allowed us to install the electrical fixtures by our qualified electrician, lighting and radiators to the clients specific design.
We took down the existing wall into the adjacent dining room. We installed a steel beam and enlarged the new room to create space so that the quartz breakfast bar was installed.

Kitchen extension and installation
This kitchen space was originally made up of the old kitchen and the dining rooms.
This project was extremely difficult and required all of our expertise to succeed, as we had to put in place many strategically placed supports that could hold up the first floor bedroom, family bathroom, loft conversion and a substantial roof. We then had to expertly install large steel beams and weld them together. The new ceiling is completely flat and shows no sign of the steel work above it.

Conservatory remodelling, Orangery with sky-of
Its hard to believe that the old unusable conservatory (shown) has been transformed into a fantastic room. We took away the roof. We constructed a new brickwork wall, installed a new steel ring beam and fitted the super insulated fibreglass GRP roof with a skypod glass roof on top. New "Smart System" bifold doors in anthracite colour were installed. A new anthracite feature radiator was installed. The LED lighting was added and the room was plastered. The T.V. was installed onto the new wall.
This old bungalow that was situated on the Warwick road in Solihull, is typical of 60's and 70's homes in solihull. We constructed a superb rendered kitchen extension to the rear of the property. We expertly installed a fibreglass GRP roof that will have a life time of 40 years plus. We stripped back all of the ceilings and took away the plasterboard. This allowed us to move the electrical fittings, lighting and radiator pipework and re install it all to the clients instructions.
We reconfigured the small hallway and old kitchen into a large hallway and brand new bathroom.
We have many years designing kitchens and kitchen extensions our ideas are fundamental in helping to create fantastic family spaces.

Bespoke extension

Morrall Construction, builders of Solihull created a superb family space from several awkward old rooms. We expertly opened the rear of the property with huge steel beams that spanned over 10 metres. The porcelain tiled patio area was constructed in a way that appeared to flow through the enormous anthracite aluminium doors into the kitchen area and out into the open. This extension has appeared in many home magazines promoting the architect.

Solar Panel System in Solihull / What the Client Said:
We asked Graham Morrall to supply a quotation for our Solar Panel System. He had recently installed a system for a friend of ours. We have quite a large roof that faces south west. We wanted as many of the best quality panels onto the roof as possible but also for the panel array to look symmetrical and and as subtle as possible. We had had several quotes, and the Sunny Boy inverter was mentioned by many companies as being one of the best on the market.
Graham supplied a competitive quotation within a couple of days and suggested panel layout plans that the other companies hadn’t. One of Graham’s layouts was for 15 panels but the plan for 13 panels looked better. When he came to install it, he found that 14 panels was possible, and this flexibility on his part meant the final job looked even better.
He was the only installer who suggested that the solar cable could be routed down the side of a soil pipe that runs down the centre of the house and into the garage, allowing the inverter to be installed there (I suppose that’s the benefit of getting a quote from the man who’s going to do the work rather than a salesman). This means we can check what we’ve generated, and also it meant he could easily install a Solar water-heating device that should help with the gas bills.
The Solar World Panels were installed by Graham within a couple of days. The Sunny Boy Inverter and electric devices were installed in an afternoon by Graham’s fully qualified electrician Ian Millard. Graham has installed a quality system at a price that we were happy with and I would happily recommend Graham and his company, The Solar Pad Limited.
(He also noticed that a lot of the mortar had fallen out of the ridge and hip tiles so he re-pointed them at no extra cost – thanks!).

The Bathroom is Complete, Wow!!!
The Customer's comments
Eight years ago Graham carried out the construction of a large bedroom and ensuite extension at our property in Solihull. At the same time he installed a wonderful family bathroom to replace the original.
He did an excellent job matching the bricks and the mortar on the extension and is a really skilled bricklayer, we are really pleased with how well the extension has blended in with the rest of the house.
The most recent project was the installation of a ground floor bathroom. The old one had become very dated and old fashioned. There was ghastly pipe work on show snaking around the walls.
Graham said it wasn’t a problem to sink the pipes into the walls. We now have a cloakroom to be proud of rather than an embarrassment.
Graham is a wonderful builder, he had lots of ideas and knew exactly what products to recommend. He allowed us to use his account at the local tile showroom, this saved us quite a lot of money and this is always welcome!
He is trustworthy, tidy, really pleasant and always on time. In fact he had a front door key for the time that he was here.
I would recommend Graham to my friends and family or to anyone thinking of carrying out a building project as these days it is very difficult to find a builder who can do so much to such a high standard and who has such enthusiasm for the projects he does. Some of the simple things he has suggested have made a huge improvement to the house, for example we now have a huge loft space we can stand up in which gives us acres of storage space.
The next project that we are planning is to remove the rotten and out of date tudor-style timber work that was popular in the 1980s and replace them with External Wall Insulation.
Now that Graham is an approved installer of Wetherby external wall insulation and cladding products we are all excited about transforming the exterior of our property.

Solar Panel System 1st June 2014
Canadian Solar 310 watt panels and Aurora micro-inverters.
The panels are extra large, measuring nearly 2 metres by 1 metre.
The reason that we installed micro-inverters was because that each panel can be monitored and also because that the house is a Victorian terrace house and the large inverter would have looked unsightly in the beautiful hallway as there is no garage or loft space.

What the client said, "Graham from the Solar Pad Ltd was helpful at all times. He steered us through the process of installing Solar Panels onto our roof. The problems we had were challenging and numerous and Graham tackled them all with great ideas that he and his team put into practise swiftly and with little disruption. Firstly the roof area facing South wasn't suitable for normal sized panels so he advised us to fit the larger 310 watt panels. Also there was no where to site an inverter because the property doesn't have a garage and the loft space is a bedroom. He came up with the idea of using micro-inverters that attach to each panel. The credit meter and mini fuse board were installed along side the other electric meters and tucked away out of sight. The system was up and running and making money within a day or so. We highly recommend Graham and his team at the Solar Pad Limited to carry out work and wouldn't hesitate to have him back to carry out other projects".

Bathroom Refurbishment in Solihull. 15th June 2014
A comment from the Client, " Early in 2007 it became
abundantly clear the stair-lift I had been using for two years would no
longer meet my needs as I would be using a wheelchair all the time. A neighbour in a nearby close had a fifth
bedroom & bathroom built over the double garage extending to the breakfast
are of the kitchen.
This seemed an ideal but expensive solution to my problem. My husband went to see the owner and he agreed it would be perfect as we could incorporate a through the floor lift from part of the garage to the new bedroom and create a level access shower in a large bathroom. The owner told us she had used Graham Morrall Construction and could thoroughly recommend him.
Although Graham had no experience of installing lifts we accepted his quote. We were so pleased with the work Graham did. He took so much care with the brickwork that the extension looked as if it had always been there. The lift was installed into the area that Graham had built and health professionals have been amazed with the finished result as it meets my needs perfectly.
We were so impressed with the extension that my husband decided to have solar panels installed on the roof at the back of the house. Graham had never installed solar panels before but we had such confidence in his work that we agreed he could install solar panels on our roof to get accreditation to install solar panels. Graham carried out the work with his usual proficiency and we are extremely pleased with the result.
Recently we have had an ensuite bathroom updated by Graham and this meant a complete reconfiguration for the toilet and wash basin. Again Graham rose to the challenge and we are very pleased with the result.
Graham has proved himself capable of tackling big and small projects. He is very reliable and hardworking. He is a careful, considerate and conscientious worker at all times and his work is of a high standard".
